Why Kitchen Promotional Products Marketing will Make Your Client’s Holiday Dinners Delight

Updated: Jul 16, 2020

The holidays are coming and so are your relatives! Whether you’re hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas this year or attending as a guest, there are going to be large numbers of people gathered in kitchens across the world.

Just think of your own kitchen. How many kitchen promotional products do you have in there?

My guess is that you probably have at least two, if not more. Mugs, bag clips, calendars, hot pads, koozies, magnets and jar lid openers are among the most frequently remembered kitchen promotional products, according to this survey by the PPAI. It’s likely that you have at least one of these, if not many of each. I know I have so many mugs, it’s scary. I have a whole hutch in my dining room just for mugs (it also has a drawer full of koozies). Plus, the fridge has at least two magnets and I can name the advertiser off the top of my head. Just try to think of your kitchen and what products you’re using that send an advertising message.

According to the same survey, 82% of Americans have between two and 11 kitchen promotional products. That’s a lot of promotional products! What’s even better is 87% of those people can identify two of those products and 51.7% can name the advertiser. That’s definitely true for me.

Thanksgiving morning, I always wake up and my Aunt has a fresh pot of coffee ready (God bless her!). I pull a mug out and it typically has some kind of branding on it. Off the top of my head, I know she has a speckled blue and white mug from a local school. She also has pot holders, bag clips, magnets and a calendar, all of which have branding on them. And I remember all of this from a kitchen I don’t use every day or visit but once a year, your clients and their families will definitely remember your logo!

What may be my favorite part of the entire holiday, and I’m sure you can relate, are the leftovers!!! I’ve already been running so I can eat a few extra bites of green bean casserole and take a few extra helpings of mashed potatoes home. My Aunt and Grandma both make sure I don’t leave Thanksgiving without about 6 servings of everything I like (green bean casserole, especially!!). Last year, it was all packed into Tupperware with promotional messaging on it and then loaded into a branded lunch box/cooler. And I was sent out the door with a promotional travel mug full of hot coffee! Now, that cooler sits on top of my fridge until I need it, and everyone who walks in sees it!

There are SO many useful products to put in your customers’ hands. Obviously, the more useful the product the more likely a customer is to keep the product. This PPAI survey shows that 81% of consumers keep a product because it’s useful. Why not make the most of these statistics? Your customers and employees are about to be gathered with their friends and families, many of them will be in the kitchen. Give them something useful they can use and get your brand out there to all of those people! Or what about a custom gift basket they can take home and share with the whole family? Kitchen promotional products are great holiday gifts for employees and clients alike!!
